We all love the crispy pata for family gathering and large get togethers. Enjoy this Filipino favorite by learning to how to make you own crispy pata!
Serves: 6-8 pax
INGREDIENTS:
1 whole pork pata (pork knuckle, front leg)
1 onion, sliced
2 sachets MAGGI MAGIC SARAP 8g
3 liters water
cooking oil for deep frying
Vinegar dip: Combine -
½ cup vinegar
¼ cup soy sauce
2 tbsp sugar
1 sachet MAGGI MAGIC SARAP 8g
½ cup chopped onion
2 pieces chopped siling labuyo, optional
PROCEDURE
Boil whole pork pata with onion, 1 pack of MAGGI MAGIC SARAP in water for 45 minutes to 1 hour or until pork is tender. When cooked, remove from broth and rub with the remaining pack of MAGGI MAGIC SARAP. Leave to cool and air dry.
Heat enough oil to cover the whole pata when deep-fried. Fry pata for 20 minutes on each side until crispy and golden brown.
Remove from heat and transfer on a platter lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve with the prepared vinegar dip.
