Tapa sa Gata (Alang na Tapa)

Tapa sa Gata or Pan-fried Beef in Coconut Milk. For a leaner meat cut, use beef tenderloin. Lean cuts have less fat and thus have less calories.

Ingredients:
½ kg beef sirloin, cut into slices
2 sachets 8g MAGGI MAGIC SARAP
1 tbsp garlic
¼ cup MAGGI Savor, Garlic
1 tbsp patis
¼ tsp pepper
cooking oil for frying
1 1/2 cups coconut milk
1 medium size onion, cubed

Procedure:
Rub sirloin with MAGGI MAGIC SARAP and garlic. Marinate in combined mixture of MAGGI Savor, patis and pepper for at least 30 minutes.
Heat oil and pan-fry prepared beef tapa. Set aside. 3. In a separate pan, pour in coconut milk and bring to a boil. Add in tapa and onion. Cook for another 10 minutes or until tapa has been soaked in the sauce. Serve hot.

Ginataang Pinakbet

Here is an easy, and Filipino favorite Ginataang Pinakbet recipe also known as Mixed Native Vegetables with Coconut Milk.

Ingredients:
2 tbsp cooking oil
1 cup sliced squash
1/2 cup sliced ampalaya
1 cup sliced okra
1 cup sitaw cut 1 and 1/2 inch long
1 cup sliced talong
1 8g MAGGI MAGIC SARAP
1 cup coconut milk
1 cup kangkong leaves

Procedure:

  1. Heat oil, sauté kalabasa, ampalaya and okra for 5 minutes or until vegetables turned light in color.
  2. Stir in sitaw and talong, add MAGGI MAGIC SARAP and cook for another minute.
  3. Pour in coconut milk and bring to boil. Cook for 5 minutes more or until vegetables are crisp tender. Add kangkong leaves and simmer for another minute.

Bulalo Steak

Bulalo Steak is a different yet interesting way of preparing  and serving beef shanks--slowly tenderized, marinated and seared then served sizzling on a hot plate

Ingredients:
1 kg bulalo (beef shank, bone in)
2 liters water
1 tbsp Maggi Savor, Calamansi
¼ cup MAGGI Oyster Sauce
¼ cup cooking oil for browning

Gravy:
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp all purpose flour
¼ cup drippings from the fried bulalo
¼ cup NESTLÉ All Purpose Cream

Procedure:

  1. In a pressure cooker, tenderize bulalo in 2 liters of water for 30 minutes. Start timing when the water in the steamer starts to boil.
  2. Remove tenderized “bulalo” from the broth and marinate with MAGGI Savor, Calamansi for at least 15 minutes. When ready to pan-fry, rub marinated meat with MAGGI Oyster Sauce on all sides.
  3. Heat cooking oil and pan-fry prepared “bulalo” until brown on all sides. Transfer on a hot plate and serve with prepared gravy on top or on the side. Serve immediately.
  4. To prepare Gravy: Melt butter and add flour to make a roux. Slowly pour in the drippings while whisking mixture vigorously. Cook until thick. Add NESTLÉ All Purpose Cream to achive desire gravy consistency.
